How To Style An Overshirt
Here at Designerwear, we offer a wide range of overshirts. From Paul & Shark and Farah to BOSS and Belstaff, we have something for everyone in the overshirt department.
Sitting between a regular shirt, and a light jacket, the overshirt is a handy addition to the wardrobe, especially when it comes to those slightly warmer summer nights, when a t-shirt is too chilly, and a sweatshirt is too warm. Or those winter nights out when you need that one more layer for extra warmth. Reach for your overshirt, and you will be sorted fashionably, you’ll be perfectly temperate and also prepared for those indeterminate instances of unpredictable weather.
The overshirt is matched perfectly with a good pair of jeans or chinos. Whether it be a Black Edwin Taper, or a Blue “Lean Dean” from Nudie, the trouser colour of choice should always compliment the top half of the outfit. For example, our Black “Gritty Jackson” Jeans from Nudie, paired alongside the White Danny Short Sleeve T-shirt from Farah, with the Open Green Lovel Zip 8 Overshirt from BOSS thrown over, and some White Leather Sneakers from Valentino, your outfit is complete.
Most overshirts, if not all, are lightweight pieces, but provide a remarkable amount of extra warmth when it’s needed. Some of our thicker overshirts, such as the Belstaff “Wayfare” Overshirt, provide perfect comfort in all seasons. Versatile not only in weather, but also in style, the overshirt can be worn at a variety of different occasions, whether it be to work, on a night out, or to dinner with someone special.
The variety of colours in overshirts we offer at Designerwear too can add another dimension to your outfit. An example being the addition of our Spring Blue Washed Twill Overshirt from Lyle & Scott, to a relatively simple or monochrome outfit. This will add a perfect amount of colour to your look and is in style for the brighter, summer months ahead.
All in all, the overshirt being comfortable to wear, simple to layer and effortlessly stylish, makes it the perfect, box-ticked addition to your year-round wardrobe.
